Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program in Statistics

The Interdisciplinary PhD in Statistics (IDPS) is designed for students currently enrolled in a participating MIT doctoral program who wish to develop their understanding of 21st century statistics, using concepts of computation and data analysis as well as elements of classical statistics and probability within their chosen field of study.

Social and Engineering Systems

The Doctoral Seminar requirement requirement can be fulfilled for the Fall 2018 semester by taking the seminar “Topics in Information and Inference.”

How to join IDPS:

Doctoral students in participating programs may submit a selection form between the end of their second semester and penultimate semester in their doctoral program.

Required documents include a CV, unofficial transcript and thesis proposal or statement of interest in statistics.  For access to the selection form or for further information, please contact the IDSS Academic Office at idss_academic_office@mit.edu. The deadline to apply for Fall 2018 is October 5th.
