Jonathan Weed awarded Josephine de Karman Fellowship

SDSC student Jonathan Weed has been awarded the Josephine de Karman Fellowship for his work in Statistical Problems in Transport and Alignment. The fellowship was founded in 1954 by Dr Theodore Von Karmen, and is awarded every academic year to “students whose scholastic achievements reflect Professor von Karman’s high standards.”

Jonathan is currently a fifth year graduate student in MIT’s Mathematics department. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Princeton University. His research focuses on statistical problems motivated by biology, econometrics and machine learning.
